Identification of the Victim

Last week, a decomposed body was discovered in a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd at a Los Angeles impound lot. The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas through forensic analysis, as reported by NBC Los Angeles.

Investigation Status

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to determine the cause of death. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stated that they do not currently have a crime classification from the coroner regarding the mode or manner of death, resulting in a lack of suspect information at this time.

Missing Person Confirmation

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was the juvenile reported missing from Lake Elsinore. They clarified that the LAPD is the lead agency on the case and the main point of contact, and they apologized for initially labeling the investigation as a homicide.

Discovery of the Remains

The remains were found on September 8 after police responded to a call from Hollywood Tow about a foul odor emanating from the abandoned Tesla. The vehicle had been impounded prior to the discovery of the body. The medical examiner noted that the girl was found wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal chain bracelet, and stud earrings. She was described as having wavy black hair and weighing approximately 71 pounds. Law enforcement sources indicated that the remains were not intact and suggested that she had been deceased in the vehicle for an extended period.

D4vd’s Response

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been informed about the situation and is reportedly fully cooperating with authorities. At the time of the discovery, he was on his “Withered World Tour” and had a scheduled performance in Seattle, which has since been canceled.
